Missionaries!!

I am Sister Tuckett and i am a missionary for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. My purpose as a missionary is to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and his atonement, repentence, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and enduring to the end. I am a Missionary because i love my god and i want to serve him and fulfill my purpose as a missonary. What is a missionary? A missionary is a reprsentative of Jesus Christ that goes out to different places in the world and teaches about Jesus Christ and about his church that he said up when he was on the earth. We teach about Heavenly Fathers plan for us and how we can live with him again. We teach about having faith and repenting of our wrongs and how we can be baptized and then have the holy ghost to be with us at all times. We teach about gods commandments that he has given us and how to follow him. We teach about families and we can be with them forever! When do missionaries go? The male missionaries(Elders) go out when they are 19 years of age and sisters go out when they are 21. Missionaries go to Canada, US, Europe, Africa, England and lots of other places around the world.

There are hundrends of missionaries out preaching the gospel. Missionaries are called by our living prophet and apostles today. We feel out a series of papers and turn them into Salt Lake City, UT and they decide where each missionary goes, then they send us back a letter telling us where the lord wants us to go. We then report on a certain date to what is called the MTC(Missionary Training Center) we go there to learn how to teach people and how to be become successful missionaries. We are there for about 3 weeks and then go to where we have been called to serve. Elders serve for 24 months and the sisters serve for 18 months. We dedicate our time and effort to the lord. We are set apart from the world to do the lords work and to only serve him. I am so happy to be a missionary and i am know that i have been called of god to teach his gospel to the people of Montana. In the Book of Mormon: Another Testement of Jesus Christ i love the verse which reads: "Now they were desirous that salvation should be declared to every creature, for they could not bear that any human soul should perish; yea, even the very thoughts that any soul should endure endless torment did cause them to quake and tremble." I am out here to help people to come unto Christ so that can enjoy the blessing that i enjoy.  http://mormon.org/missionaries/

One night I had a dream--
I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord
and across the sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints,
one belonged to me and the other to the Lord.
When the last scene of my life flashed before me,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that many times along the path of my life,
there was only one set of footprints.
I also noticed that it happened at the very lowest
and saddest times in my life.
This really bothered me and I questioned the Lord about it.
"Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you,
you would walk with me all the way,
but I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life
there is only one set of footprints.
"I don't understand why in times when I needed you most,
you should leave me."
The Lord replied, "My precious, precious child,
I love you and I would never, never leave you
during your times of trial and suffering.
"When you saw only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you."

A Living Prophet Today!

In the Book of Mormon we read about King Noah. King Noah was a very wicked man. He did not keep the commandments of god, he was self conceited,he lied, he was lazy, idolatrous, and he did not care about any one but himself. He also had a lot of  wealth, and went after riches. He taught his people to do the same and not to follow god.

Because he was so wicked, god sent a prophet(Abinadi) to tell King Noah and his people that they needed to repent or his people will be put in bondage. But King Noah did not listen and he said that he was a crazy man and to kill him. So Abinadi was put to death by fire. This story reminds me a lot of our world today. We have those people that are following the ways of the world and not the ways of god. So god called a prophet just like Abinadi to call us to repentance and to follow Heavenly Father today. It is so important that we have a prophet today. Cause the world is getting more and more crazier each day. We need that prophet to lead and guide us, to warn us and to receive that direct communication with our loving heavenly father.
